Why This Reference Exists
Michigan law makes many government records available, but those records are split among offices. The St. Joseph County Sheriff maintains the local booking and release record. The 3B District and 45th Circuit courts document the orders and case events behind many jail departures. The Michigan Department of Corrections runs OTIS for prison, parole, probation, and recent discharge information. Federal and immigration custody require separate federal tools.
This site organizes those distinct routes. It explains how to ask for the county release record, how to read an MDOC status, how to check post-release supervision, and how to follow a documented transfer. It does not combine the records into a new database or turn a missing search result into a claim that someone was released.
